Im a bit of a food-hoarder when I can be. Our stand-up freezer and pantry are pretty much full right now. I've been doing some freezer cooking and we were blessed with a gift of Omaha Steaks from my in-laws. I have calculated everything we have, organized it sort-of, and have enough food to feed the 4 of us dinners for a full month. Of course, we will still need some produce to supplement as well as other meals and snacks.
I plan to make all home-made bread this month, use lots of dry beans and every ounce of what we have on hand. Luckily we are stocked with Costco-sized dog food, coffee, peanut butter, flour and dry beans. The items I do buy will be very well thought out. Bulk items, cheap produce and very wise buys will be what I end up getting. I will share them all with you. I hope to keep our grocery bill at $100 this month and eating out at ZERO.
My husband will get a whopping $20 spending money for the month and the girls and I nothing. Yes, this will be really hard BUT our dream is just around the corner. Coming up with this money means paying for our major construction plans with cash, keeping us out of debt and hopefully able to finance 'the dream' the following month :-O
so no whining if you don't get ice cream this month! |
