Being a mom is busier that i had ever imagined. I spend pretty much 100% of my time and thoughts on my children. I cook them wonderful and healthy meals, i make sure they are challenged both mentally and physically and have an emotionally secure and stable upbringing. .....and of course this includes the constant cleaning up after, driving them everywhere, playing with dollies, messy crafts and our version of 'homeschooling' because my girls love learning SO much.....
This does not leave much time for mom. Familiar?
I have gained a few unhealthy pounds in the past couple years. I recently discovered that my winter jeans did in-fact NOT fit. This was a pretty big problem for me.
On October 10 I signed up with MyFitnessPal(its a free phone app BTW) and have been striving to be healthier ever since. Documenting my food daily- being careful, VERY careful to stay within my caloric goal and 2-3 easy workouts per week. (easy because I'm out of shape!)
Today is Day 30. I AM DOWN A TOTAL OF 6 POUNDS!!!
I didn't starve, I didn't kill myself with workouts, I didn't take magic pills, didn't join a gym, didn't buy a budget-busting food plan...... sure, those things will generally work, and some are super great BUT there is a good old fashioned way to do it too..... and its free!
The big HUGE secret? Its all numbers! My number output was greater than my input. Simple.
I chose healthy foods, documented every. single. thing. I put into my body, did a few easy workouts, and voila!
Now that I'm feeling a little healthier and more like myself i am ready to bump it up a notch! Daily strength challenges, more workouts, lots of healthy gourmet food! Im feeling freaking awesome!
