Silently in my mind i refer to this as 'hummingbird crack'... did I get that name from my step-dad? Im not sure. But I do know the recipe is from him.... and he is a natural bird-whisperer so I can assure you this is one good recipe!
When my feeders run out the little birds hover in front of my windows giving me the stare-down, you can almost see the silent threats in their tiny little eyes. They take it quite personally when the food runs out.
How do I make this?
Simply boil, then let cool a little bit, a kettle of water. Pour it over your sugar, mix and let totally cool, then pour into your clean hummingbird feeders.
Ratio is: 2 cups water to 1/2 cup pure sugar.
Thats it, nothing else, no horrible dye or artificial flavors or anything like that. Keep it natural and they will keep coming back. We don't want to give those poor birds ADHD for crying out loud! ;)
