March 1st, Day 1.
I am organized and ready to save every penny this month. We have a deadline, and its major! Here is the beginning of our financial journey, Phase 2: adding on to the home. We will clearly be financing the construction but need to pay cash for many things. This month we need to save the remainder of our Architect fees. ....and its a LOT!
For fun encouragement I put a little tracker on my blog here... funny enough they don't have 'spending' trackers! So instead I will just use the savings one for my spending. I have topped us off at $300 TOTAL for the month. This includes all food purchases, groceries, snacks, pet supplies, fun items, hubby birthday dinner, clothing etc. Obviously this does not allow much of anything. But we can do it!
First up was lunch for my kiddos. I mixed together an assortment of leftovers and it was delish! Pasta, Indian leftovers(curried stuff), sliced turkey and arugula! It was actually quiet tasty! Zero food waste is a goal I constantly strive for.
As I was able to stay home all day today being that it is Sunday I had time to get a loaf of whole wheat bread in the bread maker. Yum!
Last on my list was making hummus! I soaked and cooked my beans in a crockpot all day and threw together a simple hummus just before bed! Perfect snacks for the week!
