A few easy days here. I simply followed my menu plan for the week and don't spend a dime!
I check the pantry and freezer frequently for items to get creative with and use up!
G for gross. being cheap doesn't always pay off! |
A comical even occurred when I decided to pull out an older, half empty, container of shake mix from my pantry and have some for breakfast. Most of you know that I take my health seriously and have gotten quite used to my delicious Shakeology every day. Its delicious and gives me the energy i need, etc, etc.. Being frugal I was hoping to use up what was left of this container, so I mixed up a cup, took a sip and nearly got sick. It was beyond terrible! How did i ever force myself to drink this health-powder before?!?!?! I can not even imagine buying another 'health shake' ever again :-p Sometimes being frugal does NOT pay off if the cheaper product is DISGUSTING! I chuckled at myself for quite some time that day. Lesson learned!
This delicious dinner here is healthy AND frugal! It was a freezer meal, a mushroom chicken for the crockpot, some roasted broccoli and whole wheat pasta! It was so good my oldest got a teeny tiny bit aggressive regarding the leftovers ;) She wanted to be certain they ended up in HER lunch the next day! Funny.
A great and frugal few days.
Total spent: $0
