Days 21-26th, a busy week!

A busy week and the spending was low!  Thriftiness and creativity at its best!

Fresh produce was getting low so we whipped up some roasted carrots for dinner.  I buy my organic carrots in bulk, cheap and healthy!  This turned out super simple and quite delicious!  Lightly seasoned with olive oil, salt and thyme, the children went crazy for them and even requested 2nd helpings :)

love this!
I belong to our local 'Buy Nothing' group and love to give away outgrown and unneeded things there.  On occasion I find and receive something for myself!  I was the lucky recipient of this darling blazer...  pretty hard to see in the dark photo- but it will be something I wear frequently, such a treat to add to my wardrobe, something I rarely do for myself as a stay-at-home mom!

pie crusts for 12 cents!!!  organic ravioli for 50 cents!!!
The time had come to re-stock on some produce.  I went to Grocery Outlet and got apples and pears, salad and tomatoes....  also got a huge bag of cheese, almond milks...  assorted frozen items.....  quite a bit of course!  Spent $36

sunshine!

We were blessed with some more awesome weather, playing in the yard= FREE!  So fun!

Using my leftovers I got creative for breakfast, some brown rice, a little bit of oats, eggs, stevia and almond milk and I whipped up a rice pudding for breakfast!  It was pretty darn good, super filling and thrifty :)

Total for the week:  $36

and, fear sets in as we only have a couple dollars left...  can I do it?

  1. $36 is amazing! I spend just half that on milk and bread weekly. We eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables.
