both kiddos choose cherry milkshakes!
Fun treat and only $3 spent.
I, of course, am on a journey to health and mixed up my own special drink before I left. A cup of frozen strawberries, a cup of water and a scoop of chocolate Shakeology. It was like a milkshake, so dang delicious! And by the time we got to DQ I was not only satisfied but stuffed! Not even a single temptation to sneak a bite from either of my girls!
Thursday I was lucky enough to not 'need' to buy anything. I made a great and healthy chili from scratch using dry beans, veggies and pantry staples as well as some of that yummy ground turkey I just got from Costco. It was seriously awesome! .....and super healthy.
A life lesson I have learned, as I tend to be a super-frugal miser at times, is to still treat my kids to fun on occasion and to keep eating healthy. If life were not fun and we were ill and had no energy due to a bad diet, then what the heck would be the point of saving money or even staying in budget?
Family first, health & happiness next and frugality third!
Total Spent for Day 4 and 5: $3
